If they have any sense. Which of course they do. If they have been playing a game of 'see how little we can spend while placating everyone', then that will need to stop before they damage the value of their asset, which of course he doesn't want to do.

As long as they keep getting 50kplus bums on seats they don't care...
If attendances start seriously slipping...say in the low 40s...they may quickly change their tune...
Until then...little change...and even less spending...

Yes I can imagine us under another board TI, one that was interested in the club after the Iceleandics and would have had West Ham's best interests at heart, not their own pockets.

I think they are squirming now, the inevitable Payet sale not only mugs them off but it means they will now actually have to spend some money to retain even the smallest shred of credibility.
I suspect if Payetgate hadn't happened we'd be reading the usual "tried hard to get deals over the line" shit and announcing a loan from Chile who Real Madrid were also chasing.
